Tee Ball is meant to introduce the most basic concepts of baseball to the youngest children. Players will learn the basics of swinging a bat while hitting a ball off a tee, the direction of running bases, and how to throw. No outs of any kind are recorded, and no score is kept. If players have played tee ball once already and are at least five years old, they are likely ready for our Shetland division (ages 5 and 6), in which coaches pitch to players and outs are introduced.
At registration, Tee Ball players may choose one weeknight on which they are not available. Every attempt will be made to group players onto teams based on their availability and accommodate schedules. At the tee ball level, there will usually be two activities per week, one on a weeknight and one on Saturday. Cancellations and rescheduling may lead to weeks with three activities.
We are a volunteer organization and need parents to coach, especially at the tee ball level. Training will be given and the league will handle scheduling. Please consider supporting our league in this way. Teams are between 6 and 8 kids at this age level.
